– eFilmCritic“‘Die Hard’ with Kick-Ass Kids!” – William Goss, Cinematical LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – April 26, 2010 - A group of exceptional kids will fight to save a friend in the fast-paced martial arts hit Power Kids, arriving on Blu-ray Disc and DVD June 8 from Magnolia Home Entertainment under the Magnet Releasing label. When a group of close-knit Muay Thai-trained children learn that one of their friends is in desperate need of a heart transplant, nothing will stop them from getting the available heart – not even terrorists who have taken control of the hospital where the donated heart must be retrieved. Facing dire circumstances for themselves, their friend and their country, the undaunted kids must put their training to the test and become heroes. With friendship, courage and hearts bigger than their small size would suggest, the “Power Kids” will do what it takes to emerge victorious. Produced by Ong-Bak director Prachya Pinkaew (The Protector, Chocolate) and featuring action choreography by Panna Rittikrai (co-director of Ong-Bak 2 and director of Born to Fight), Power Kids was an official selection at the 2009 Fantasia Festival. The Power Kids Blu-ray Disc and DVD include a behind the scenes footage and making-of. They will be available for the suggested retail price of $29.98 and $26.98, respectively. Synopsis Pint-sized Wun and his older brother live at a Muay Thai school with a few other students. Suffering from a failing heart, Wun is hospitalized and in desperate need of a transplant. A viable heart becomes available, but the donated organ is locked up in a hospital that has been overtaken by a lethal terrorist faction. With only four hours to perform the surgery, Wun’s brother and best friends, armed with Thai boxing skills and determination, race to the hospital to take on the terrorists and save his life.
